Red Square plays host to a roots-music festival this weekend. Two nights of acoustic music from some of the finest artists around, Friday night will find Courtney Blackwell, Mother Judge, Ramblin’ Jug Stompers, Big Frank & the Bargain Bingers, Red Haired Stangers, the Mike McMann Band and the Sidewinders. Palatypus plays on Saturday night along with Dana Monteith, Happy Balky, Wiley Dobbs, Mark Jones, a second helping of the Strangers, and SLick Fitty...good god damn! $7 goes a long way in this case, both nights start at 7:00 and will be well worth checking out...Red Square is located at 388 Broadway in Albany, and info on all these bands (or most of them at least) can be found in the big, strange world of MySpace...
