I just learned about it a week ago from a write up on a local blog, but WMHT now has a more rock oriented local station at 97.7 that makes a special effort to feature local musicians. We've had radio stations over the years play local feature shows, WEXT actually works the music into their daily playlist. Info is here

And like WMHT they are listener supported, so if you like them and believe in what they are doing, feel free to kick in a few bucks to keep it going. I can now stop complaining about the dire state of local radio.
